SEO Tips For Blogger/Blogspot

Naturally, sub-domains such as .blogspot.com have a tendency to rank lower than top level domains such as .com .org etc.So you, as a blogger blog owner needs to put in some extra effort to ensure that your blogger blog comes to the top of the Google search results. Also, blogger blogs, being free domains have been extensively used for spamming in the past few years, due to which all the major search engines look at them cautiously, so you need to gain the trust of the search engines by practicing good SEO techniques.

Also, performing proper search engine optimization can lead to a lot of traffic, a well optimized site like  This website can out perform other sites easily in the search engine rankings.

So, I think you have got a good understanding of why you need to perform SEO on your blogger blogs.

Good SEO Practices for Blogger/Blogspot Blogs

There are several different aspects to the SEO of a blogger blog, I have made an attempt to cover all the topics under the search engine optimization of a blogger blog.I have made of list of good SEO practices you need to follow to ensure that your blog hits the top ranks in Google search.

Great SEO begins with Great Content

No matter how many keywords you put in, or how well optimized your site is, if your content is not worth ranking high, then your blog will never get into the top of search results.A well written article or blog post full of quality can do 50% of your SEO job.Imagine if you did not have quality articles, you would miss out on 50% of search engine optimization. So before trying to do complex SEO tasks, you should first concentrate on making great content which covers all aspects of a topic and is spell-binding to the readers. So creating quality content is the basic SEO step for a website, SEO Cosmo is a good example of such a website.

Keywords

Keywords play an important role in enhancing your search rankings, but you need to be careful while using keywords, there is fine line between perfect optimization and over optimization. An ideal keyword percentage would be 4%.This means that you must try to attain about 4% ratio between your content and the number of keywords, anything more than 5% can be considered as spamming.

Also make sure that you include different varieties of your keyword, for example, if your keyword is "training dogs", then you must also include phrases such as "dog training"how to train dogs" etc.

Do not try to stuff your blog post title with keywords, instead try to use all these keywords in the opening paragraph of your blog post, but make sure that you do not stuff keywords, let the writing be natural and written for the readers instead of the search engine bots.

Top 10 Blog/Blogger/Blogspot

1. Fulfill your audience’s requirements

If you want your blog readers to come back after one visit than you must provide them useful content and try to solve their problem with your content because visitors are like monkeys and your blog is like a tree. If they will not get food at your tree then to get their requirements fulfilled, they will climb to another tree.
If you want them to keep swinging on your tree then you should keep providing them food. By food, I mean unique and quality content and this will surely help you in taking your blog from zero to hero.

2. Sleep With Them

For taking your blog from zero to hero you need to gain trust of the people and to gain their trust you need to sleep with them. I don’t mean you should go to bed with them.
What I mean here is that you need to know your audience, you have to find out the needs of your audience and as I said above that fulfill their requirements. If you don’t know what are the troubles your readers face than you don’t really know them at all. The best way for taking your blog from zero to hero is to gain the trust of your readers.

3. Learn from your mistakes

Mistakes make you smarter, faster and relevant. Blogging has a lot of error stages and as a newbie Blogger you will make a lot of mistakes, but you have to learn from your mistakes and try to avoid them in next time instead of making a same mistake again and again.
When it comes to nominate the persons who makes millions of mistakes, I will put my name first because I know everyone makes mistakes, but the difference is the ability to learn from those mistakes.
The most valuable thing which you can make is mistake, You can’t learn anything from being perfect!

4. Communicate With Your Audience

A blog is basically a means by which we can communicate with our readers, so this one is no big surprise. A successful blogger wants to connect with the audience by fulfilling their requirements, helping them in all possible ways, replying to comments (That is most important that is why it’s critical to respond to each comment on our blog) and by serving their needs. Communicating is not only good for bloggers, but also for our readers and it helps to strengthen our relationships.

5. Run blogger Interviews

Interviewing other bloggers in your niche is smart way to increase the engagement and build relationship with your readers as well as with that blogger. Blogger interviews is a great way of relationship building with all bloggers in your niche. Ms. Ileane has been interviewing other bloggers here on Basic Blog Tips for quite some time.

6. Call them to take action

Do you want your readers to do something like subscribe to your blog or keep reading your other posts? If so, you must call them to do it. Readers need to be guided after reading your post. As a blogger, it’s your responsibility to show them the way.
In my opinion a good call to action is asking them to subscribe to your newsletter by using a subscription form below posts or to ask them to share your post. If they would like your post than they will love to subscribe. A good call to action is must for taking your blog from zero to hero.

7. Speed up

It’s common that a person visit your blog for first time, you have only few seconds to to capture their attention.
Your blog must not take more than 10 seconds to load because if your blog is slow, you will lose not only visitors but you will also lose ranking on search engines. You should look for all possible ways to improve the speed of your blog. Use a good caching plugin like W3 Total Cache.

Top Seo For Blogger/Blogspot

If you are a new blogger and just started your blog and do not know much about SEO but, while going through the internet page, you always see that SEO is very important to make your blog a successful one in search results, then this post is for you. This happened to me as well when I started my blog first. I was searching in the web how to get higher page rank in the web and how to get a lot of organic traffic in the web. The ultimate result that I was getting was: you must optimize your blog. At that time I was not known of SEO. Later I got to know that SEO means search engine optimization. Which means that you need to write you post and play with the words in such a way through which search engines can choose your post easily and your post shows at first when someone search with the related words.
SEO provides you a lot of unique visitors from Google and other search engine as this is the most natural way to get visitor from the web. If you are not doing it in your blog then you must need to do it right now. Below provide some basic SEO tips which will help the beginner bloggers a bit of relief and I believe that they will get some quality visitors from the search engines.
SEO Tips for the Newbie Bloggers:
Write your post in an SEO friendly way:
While writing your post you must need to keep some points in your mind:
  • At first you need to select one keyword on which you are going to make the post. To select a keyword which matches with your blog topic you can search in Google Keyword Tool, which is very helpful. In Google keyword tool you can search for the word to get the most searched word. Then make that word as you keyword on which you are going to make the post.
  • Then you need to put that keyword in your post title: that will be very helpful for the search engines to find that keyword in your post. But please remember not to make your post tile more than 60 characters.
  • Secondly you need to make a heading for your post, where you should place your keyword to increase its strength. If you are blogging in WordPress you will be able to set the heading, choosing h1 or h2 instead of paragraph.
  • Then write your article naturally and try to use the keyword 2 or 3 times but not more than that to make it decent. Always keep in mind that not to use your keyword in such a way the reader can understand that you are stuffing the keyword unnecessarily.
  • Another important thing you should keep in mind is that you may need to use one or two images related to your post. Images speak for a thousand words. You also need to optimize your images. In WordPress while uploading a image you will have the opportunity of naming your image, giving it an alt tag and a title tag. Be very technical while providing the image name. Use underscore (_) in between your image title words. For example, if your image name is “Seo for beginners”, then just make it “Seo_for_beginners”. Search engines do not have eyes to see your images. So, the only thing they recognize is your image taqgs (alt and title). So, be smart and name your images. Sometimes people only read your post because of your image. They search for an image and when they like it, sometimes they also read the post.
  • The last thing is to use some tags for the article when it is finished. Use related words and the keyword to select as your tag. If you are writing a post about “Mobile” then do not use your tag as “Steve Jobs”. Just joking!
  • Last but not the least, share your post in StumbleUpon, Twitter and your Facebook fan page. If you do not have any Facebook fan page create one today.  It will provide you a branding for your blog.
I think the tips above will be helpful for the newbie bloggers because they do not have a lot of experience of SEO. I’ll be very happy if my tips help any newbie blogger.

How and when to Post on Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and other social networking sites Latest

The best time to post content with a link on Twitter is 1 to 3 p.m. EST Monday to Thursday. Over on Facebook, between 1 and 4 p.m. mid-week is the sweet spot, while Tumblr users are more likely to click after 4 p.m. and especially on Fridays. How can these networks be so different?
URL shortening service Bitly has released a series of graphs demonstrating the optimal time and day to post on each of these three social networks.
“By understanding the simple characteristics of each social network, you can publish your content at exactly the right time for it to reach the maximum number of people,” Bitly advises in their blog post announcing the data.

Friday a Dead Zone on Facebook & Twitter, Optimal for Tumblr

Posting a link to Twitter after 3 p.m. on a Friday is pretty much pointless, based on their cumulative data on the number of clicks on bitly links from each social network. Over on Facebook, traffic peaks mid-week, with Friday and weekend posts apt to receive far less attention. Posts between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. any day of the week are fighting an uphill battle for clicks.
On Tumblr though, Friday is a great time to post, says Bitly. Here, they actually recommend waiting until after 4 p.m. to post.
The traffic peak on Tumblr occurs between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with Sunday just slightly behind. In fact, posts made after 7 p.m. receive more clicks over 24 hours, on average, than links posted during the week, mid-day. This runs counter to what you see on Facebook and Twitter, thanks to the culture and behavior patterns of each network, they said.

Early Afternoon a Great Posting Time on Twitter & Facebook

Early afternoon from Monday to Thursday are optimal times to post links to Twitter, specifically between 1 and 3 p.m., says Bitly. The peak traffic time runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but posting later in this window increases the likelihood of content going viral.
On Facebook, links posted between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. get the most clicks, with the absolute peak being Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Bitly’s latest look into time and day posting trends expands upon their September research into the half-life of links posted through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. In that study, they found that their links have, on average, a 3 hour half-life (the point at which the link has received half of all clicks it will ever receive). See the original post on the half-life of links for specifics on links from each network.
Bitly on understanding their charts: “Day of the week, starting with Monday, is on the Y axis, and hour of the day, starting with midnight, along the X axis. For the first plot in each section, the darker the blue block, the more traffic on average links posted during that hour received in the following 24 hour period of time. White blocks show when links got less traffic.”

How To Get Traffic From Guest Posts Latest

Tips To Get Traffic From Guest Posts

Write Quality Content

The most important part of guest posting is that you write quality content that the websites readers would enjoy. Most people think that quantity is what will get you the most traffic when in reality will get you 10 times more traffic and a lot faster too. The trick to writing quality content is to come up with your title and all the key points first and then expand on them. Just know that nobody is a perfect writer and the more guest posts you do the better you will become.

Participate In The Comments

One thing that is vital to getting traffic to your site is to answer and respond to all the comments that are posted on your guest post. The reason why this works to get more traffic is because you can then point the commentators to articles that you have written that might solve a problem or answer a question that they have. The goal of participating in the comments is not to steal as much traffic as you can, the goal is to establish trust and show your expertise in the field that you are writing in.

Write 2 Guest Posts Per Week

Something that I have been doing for a while now is writing 2 guest posts each week and it has worked quite well for me. The traffic that you get from guest postings will greatly improve your website but once you stop writing the traffic will slowly digress. The reason why I only write 2 guest posts per week is so that I don’t neglect my own websites and the business that I am trying to build.

Expand The Audience

If you want to get loads of traffic then you need to write guest posts for a bunch of different websites. The reason why writing guest posts for a bunch of different websites works is because you will expand your audience beyond your usual readers. Most website owners don’t see the upside to this but what you need to realize is that every guest post you write will attract some different people and you never know if those people will result in some kind of profit for you.
The last thing I want to make sure you understand about guest posting is that it will take some time, you can’t just write 10 high quality posts in a single day and expect them to get published. Writing a guest post takes times and that is why writing 2 per week is a great starting point for you. Just remember that when it comes to getting traffic guest posts are the “Easy way out”.
