How and when to Post on Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and other social networking sites Latest

 
The best time to post content with a link on Twitter is 1 to 3 p.m. EST Monday to Thursday. Over on Facebook, between 1 and 4 p.m. mid-week is the sweet spot, while Tumblr users are more likely to click after 4 p.m. and especially on Fridays. How can these networks be so different?
URL shortening service Bitly has released a series of graphs demonstrating the optimal time and day to post on each of these three social networks.
“By understanding the simple characteristics of each social network, you can publish your content at exactly the right time for it to reach the maximum number of people,” Bitly advises in their blog post announcing the data.

Friday a Dead Zone on Facebook & Twitter, Optimal for Tumblr

Posting a link to Twitter after 3 p.m. on a Friday is pretty much pointless, based on their cumulative data on the number of clicks on bitly links from each social network. Over on Facebook, traffic peaks mid-week, with Friday and weekend posts apt to receive far less attention. Posts between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. any day of the week are fighting an uphill battle for clicks.
On Tumblr though, Friday is a great time to post, says Bitly. Here, they actually recommend waiting until after 4 p.m. to post.
The traffic peak on Tumblr occurs between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, with Sunday just slightly behind. In fact, posts made after 7 p.m. receive more clicks over 24 hours, on average, than links posted during the week, mid-day. This runs counter to what you see on Facebook and Twitter, thanks to the culture and behavior patterns of each network, they said.

Early Afternoon a Great Posting Time on Twitter & Facebook

Early afternoon from Monday to Thursday are optimal times to post links to Twitter, specifically between 1 and 3 p.m., says Bitly. The peak traffic time runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but posting later in this window increases the likelihood of content going viral.
On Facebook, links posted between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. get the most clicks, with the absolute peak being Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Bitly’s latest look into time and day posting trends expands upon their September research into the half-life of links posted through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. In that study, they found that their links have, on average, a 3 hour half-life (the point at which the link has received half of all clicks it will ever receive). Bitly on understanding their charts: “Day of the week, starting with Monday, is on the Y axis, and hour of the day, starting with midnight, along the X axis. For the first plot in each section, the darker the blue block, the more traffic on average links posted during that hour received in the following 24 hour period of time. White blocks show when links got less traffic.”

Write Quality Content

The most important part of guest posting is that you write quality content that the websites readers would enjoy. Most people think that quantity is what will get you the most traffic when in reality will get you 10 times more traffic and a lot faster too. The trick to writing quality content is to come up with your title and all the key points first and then expand on them. Just know that nobody is a perfect writer and the more guest posts you do the better you will become.

Participate In The Comments

One thing that is vital to getting traffic to your site is to answer and respond to all the comments that are posted on your guest post. The reason why this works to get more traffic is because you can then point the commentators to articles that you have written that might solve a problem or answer a question that they have. Something that I have been doing for a while now is writing 2 guest posts each week and it has worked quite well for me. 8 Simple Ways To Increase Blog Traffic For Free.. Latest 2012

 
In this post I’m gonna be talking briefly about each of the 8 traffic methods – but if you want a more in depth look at 3 of my favorites, sign up for my email course here.

Method #1: Guest Blogging
Guest Blogging is a great way to reach an entire new audience that other bloggers have spend months and even years building up. I still get traffic from a post I did on Laura Roeder’s Blog.

Method #2: YouTube Marketing
Video Marketing is a very good method of generating traffic because your videos will stay up there forever. (or as long as the site is running)
Videos that get popular and get a lot of views, tend to stay popular – so they will generate a steady stream of visitors to your site without fail. I recommend sticking to YouTube and mastering it since it’s the most popular video sharing site on the web.

Method #3: Commenting on Blogs
Blog Commenting is one of my favorite because I get to learn, interact and drive traffic all at once. It’s a bit time consuming but the results are amazing.

Method #4: Facebook Marketing
Facebook Pages & Groups. This is not about going to groups and posting your links all over the place (unless of course it’s a TRIBE that you’re involved in).
I recommend creating a Fan Page or a Group on Facebook that attracts your target market. That way you can add value to them by driving them back to your blog for content.
Method #5: Outbound Links
Outbound Links are great to drive traffic because of Trackbacks. Whenever you link to another person’s blog who’s using wordpress, a trackback is automatically created which tells them exactly where that link is coming from.
Other people can click on that link and come back to your blog.

Method #6: Yahoo! Answers
Yahoo! Answers Traffic. You can go to Yahoo! Answers and search for unanswered questions related to your topic or niche. You can answer the question with a link to a post where you address the actual in much more detail.
Updated: Quora is the perfect social network to do this. You can find topics you know something about and answer people’s questions. Pretty cool.

Method #7: Give Away Free Reports
Give Away Free Reports. I just uploaded 3 reports to GetFreeEbooks.com. It’s a free service that allows you to upload your PDF’s and then it’s blasted out to 19,000+ readers. I’ll share the results once they post my reports (hopefully they’ll be good).

10,000+ blogs removed from BlogRush Latest 2012

 

John Reese, the founder of BlogRush, wrote to me (and, of course, to many other bloggers) that BlogRush is ready to roll out Phase 2 soon. He has indicated that those blogs that do not meet the requirement has been removed from the system. It is not very clear how the blogs had been evaluated. But, certainly, there is some clean-up as I had lost one of my referrals in the system.

While BlogRush promises an increase in click-rates, we need to wait and watch how it performs. The basic concept is really good as we can already see similar widgets being released like “What Others Say” widget for Wordpress and Autoroll widget for Blogger. But, the success lies in its implementation. I like John Reese’ commitment to BlogRush. I should appreciate his efforts in updating the members of the progress and replying to most the comments on his web site.

If you were one of the BlogRush members that had their account deactivated, you will notice that the widget no longer will load on your blog. For now, please remove the BlogRush code from your blog. When you login to your account you will find instructions on how to resubmit your blog for review to reactivate your account.

One thing is clear. BlogRush team did not expect such a huge response from the bloggers and they were caught unprepared. They should have, in fact, implemented the review process even before allowing anyone into the system. This reverse process is going to give some negative publicity for BlogRush and could cause irrevocable bitter feeling among the bloggers.

Why my posts were not syndicated?Latest 2012

 
 Do I face the same problem?
Saedel has mentioned that BlogRush is filtering out all the reviews about them. I did a quick check to see whether my post on BlogRush, dated 2nd December 2007, was syndicated across the network. To my surprise, I cannot find this particular post on the syndication list.

I have posted 4 posts in December so far, one each on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th December. As you can see, three of them has been syndicated. Only the post on BlogRush has not been syndicated.

Why the particular post was not syndicated?
I do not want to jump into any conclusion yet. I just remembered that this was not my first post on BlogRush. When I checked through my archive, I noticed that there were eight posts in all, including the latest one, mentioning about BlogRush. When I checked the BlogRush reports, only four of them were not syndicated:

My immediate finding is that BlogRush is filtering out those posts with the word "BlogRush" in the title. If you have the word inside the discussion, it seems all right. But, to my surprise, the post on PageRank was also not syndicated. I have mentioned about BlogRush in the content, but that may not be the reason.

Further Checks
I did search my blog, once again, for posts with the word "PageRank" in the title. I had two posts satisfying the search and as I expected, both were not syndicated. In addition to the above post with the word "PageRank", the following is the other post:

Findings
From my study, I conclude the following:

1. BlogRush is filtering out posts with the word "BlogRush" in the title. I have purposely avoided the same word in this post title and I want to see whether this will be syndicated. In all probability, it should.
2. The posts with the word "PageRank" in the title are also filtered.

Conclusion
Initially, I thought only the reviews on BlogRush has been filtered out as Saedel has pointed out. The whole problem may be due to some glitch in the system. But, we do not know until John Reese and his team explain the rationale behind this.

Constructive Changes to BlogRush Latest 2012

 
Finally, BlogRush has put their words into action. Now, you can change the border color of the BlogRush widget to match your blog. Another important change is to control which post links from your blog will be displayed. BlogRush provides a post filter that you can use to filter out posts with certain keywords. John Reese, Founder of BlogRush has written a long letter to all the BlogRush members to address all the concerns raised. Read it for yourself, the full content is displayed below:

BlogRush CAN’T EXIST if we’re not sending you a lot of ongoing, targeted traffic. We fully recognize this and that’s why this is our ONLY FOCUS.

The BlogRush team has been hard at work making major improvements for you and we won’t rest until BlogRush is running 100% smoothly and sending you tons of targeted traffic! This is OUR MISSION. We’ve encountered some problems since our historic launch just over a week ago, and we fully recognize that we’ve made some real ‘goofs’ with the system for our Public Beta release…

For example, our data center provider (one of the largest in the world) had a short, temporary outage (they had to replace a network switch) two days after our launch. We had no control over this outage but want to SINCERELY APOLOGIZE to those that saw this message on their blogs (where the widget should have been):

"We are currently experiencing some technical issues and the site will be back online shortly. Please come back in a few minutes."

We were completely *EMBARRASSED* when we realized this happened. That simple message was part of our application code and was meant to appear only on *OUR* WEB SITE PAGES if we ever experienced an outage. This was accidentally ‘marked’ to be a global error message for ANY outage — including if our widget ever had a problem loading. This was a major GOOF and we’re willing to admit it. Our code was planned so that in the case of a problem with our widget, NOTHING WOULD LOAD in its place. So a visitor to your blog doesn’t see an error or anything wrong should the widget ever have any technical issues.

This was quickly corrected and is now working properly. Should the widget ever have any problem loading in the future, your blog will be served a transparent space (which will show whatever background your blog design has) and your blog readers won’t really notice anything.

Again, our sincere apologies for our major goof. It was quite embarrassing.

NOW ONTO SOME SERIOUS ISSUES…

We also realize that we completely underestimated the number of unethical people that would sign up and proceed to CHEAT and try to ‘game’ the BlogRush system. These cheaters ruined the click-rates of many of our members (and burned through a lot of their credits using automated ‘exploit’ methods) and hurt BlogRush’s ability to send maximum traffic to our honest members’ blogs.

BUT ALL OF THAT IS ABOUT TO BE ERASED… LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED.

In the next several days to come, we’re going to be rolling out MAJOR changes to BlogRush. BIG changes. And these changes (again) have just ONE primary purpose — to drive more ongoing, targeted traffic to your blog.

We’ve listened to your valued feedback and constructive criticism and we have been working in TURBO MODE to make the changes you want ASAP…

ANY reason you’d have to try and cheat the BlogRush network for traffic and any attempt you make to monetize that traffic will lead directly to your front door — whether it’s AdSense, any affiliate program in the world, any online pharmacy, porn site, casino… ANYTHING. We will follow the trail and it WILL eventually lead to you.

Our hard-working company provides the income for MANY families. As the CEO of our company, I take this very seriously. I HAVE TO. People that attempt to abuse or cheat BlogRush are affecting the livelihood of all my employees and their families. And I will do everything in my power to protect them — it’s MY DUTY.

So for all you cheaters that joined BlogRush and had your fun trying to siphon off some traffic, hopefully it was fun. And I’ll go ahead and make this statement right now… IF you were one of the people that has been cheating our network I’m going to give you ONE opportunity… quit now and we’ll pretend it never happened. I think that’s more than fair.

BUT… if you continue after this point, all bets are off. We WILL eventually discover what you’re doing, where you’re trying to send traffic, and we will prosecute you. I GUARANTEE IT. Sorry, but WE HAVE NO CHOICE NOW.

This is the reason that users show discrepancies when looking at Google Analytics data (or other stats packages). This will eventually balance itself out as the network continues to "adjust" to the growth levels and traffic patterns of each category — because our network provides syndication distribution based on daily average "cycles" and then adjusts moving into the future; so it's able to accurately predict how fast to use a certain user's credits, etc. — as compared to just using them all "as fast as possible."

For example, you can add a keyword or phrase and create a new post filter. If you ever create a post on your blog (while you have that filter active — and you can add/delete them at anytime) that contains one of those keywords in the TITLE of your blog post, that post…

WILL *NOT* BE SHOWN ACROSS THE NETWORK. And you won’t use any of your syndication credits!

All bloggers post "off-topic" stuff from time to time, or short posts that don't have a ton of great content. Well, now you can easily keep any of those types of posts from using your valuable syndication credits and from being shown across the network!

This is GREAT for you because now you can control exactly which posts of yours will be syndicated. This can help you maximize your CLICK-RATES and, ultimately, the traffic you receive from the BlogRush network. AND it can help retain NEW READERS for your blog (your ultimate goal that can grow your blog’s traffic on a day-to-day basis.)

Build your traffic with BloggingZoom Latest 2012

In my opinion, posts on building blog traffic has been one of the most read in the blogging industry. Every blogger, irrespective of new or pro, wants to improve their traffic. A blogger with 10 visits targets 100 visits; one with 100 visits targets 1000 visits and so on. So, any service that promises to bring in more traffic is going to be an instant hit. We had seen this happen to BlogRush in the last two months. Now, it is the turn of BloggingZoom.
Launched by Court and Vic only yesterday, bloggers are already zooming in on to BloggingZoom. It is believed that the first day of launch itself has attracted about 8500 page views. In fact, I did not see much advertisement or buzz about this service before the launch. Few days ago, I just read a post on CourtneyTuttle.com that he is going to launch a traffic building service.

How to Built an Ultra Successful Blog and quit my 9-5 day Job Latest 2012

Most people who want freedom from their day jobs want it right now. This is not necessarily realistic. I faced that same fact myself and realized that it was going to take some time in order to build a successful business.
But here is the key: The time is going to pass anyway.
So 99 percent of the world just accepts their crappy day job, complains about life, and comes home each day from work to plop down in front of their television. If you want freedom then you can’t plop down in front of your television.
You have to use that time to create an amazing blog. Many internet marketers will tell you to diversify by starting multiple blogs. I found this to be a mistake in my case, and I did very well by concentrating all of my efforts on a single blog.
If you follow the other suggestions in this article for seeking day job liberation then you will do well to focus on a single blog as well.
The main reason for doing this is because building link juice and authority is incredibly difficult. Doing it more than once is extremely challenging. Therefore, just do it once by focusing all of your effort into building a single blog.
Remember, I focused on one blog for 4 years and averaged over $900 per hour. If I would have taken the traditional advice to diversify, I am not so sure I would have fared so well.

Published an average of three Quality articles per Day

Volume matters. My vision of a successful authority blog is that of a large web property, one that can pull in lots of daily traffic, and then turn that traffic into money.
I did this successfully with my flagship website by having about one million words published on the site across 1,500 articles. Before that sounds like an insurmountable task, realize that this is achievable by publishing two or three articles daily for less than two years.
Most new businesses take years and years to become profitable, so this time frame should be more than reasonable. Each article that you publish on your blog should seek to draw in new traffic based on unique long tail keyword phrases.
Most people who try to achieve an online income will run out of “publishing juice” before they start seeing that important trickle of income. Stay positive and focus on churning out two or three quality articles each day. This will absolutely get you to your income goal, provided you do not give up.
Honestly, most people give up before the miracle happens. That should give you a clear picture of what your challenge really is in all of this.

Promoted the blog with quality Guest Posts

“If you build it, they will come.” Not true any more. You have to promote your blog posts. Luckily, if you build your empire on a single domain, you only have to do this once.
I recommend the following:

• Be extremely patient – It takes a while for promotional efforts to fully kick in.
• Focus on guest posting – Find other websites & blogs in your niche and network with them. Leave real value-added comments on their blog. Email the site owner and discuss things.
  Pitch them a guest post and get a strong link back to your site. Do this over and over again until your blog is profitable.
• Avoid manufactured links, cheap links, flimsy promotional schemes, etc.

It is tough to build a blog and also promote it at the same time with quality guest posting, but that is the exact challenge you are facing. Take your time, be patient, and allow the links to slowly kick in over time.
Remember that site age matters as well. This is not going to happen in a matter of weeks or even months. If you want to buy your freedom then you must learn to be patient.
Keep doing “real” guest posts until you reach your income goal.

Focused on Income growth

Before we move on to this section, do give a read to the requirements of a blogger to make big money. It would have been easy for me to get distracted chasing social traffic instead of focusing on income growth.
Luckily, I quickly realized that most social traffic did not convert well into revenue, so I disciplined myself to only focus on building valuable traffic that monetized well.
This is difficult to do because social traffic is relatively easy to get, and valuable search engine traffic is fickle and hard to increase.
Again that is the challenge that you are faced with here. Focus on building search engine traffic that converts well into revenue by doing the following:

• Publish quality content on-site every single day – thus increasing your long tail traffic in the long run.
• Build a blog authority and link juice by publishing quality guest posts.

These two tasks are tough. Most people refuse to do them both, which is why they fail to make good money online.
If you have the discipline to do both of them on a consistent basis, you can build a successful online business and eventually achieve total freedom from your day job.
At some point, you can even stop guest posting, and simply focus on publishing quality on-site content. Once you have a successful business, it is very easy to maintain it and even grow it further without doing much additional promotion. Publish premium content and it will “sell itself” because you will already have an audience and a high traffic blog.
The hard part is in achieving that success to begin with, and that is why you need a strong promotional push.
